From the Book "A HISTORY OF SECOA BAPTIST CHURCH AND THE PICKENS AREA" by Martin Flynn
"Jacob Lewis" Jacob lewis was born on January 14,1772 in Guilford Conty, North Carolina,to David Lewis and Ann Beason Lewis. On February 22, 1792 he and the Former Aulsie Leonard were married. The couple moved to Pendleton District in 1806 were the parents of ten children. Secona church ordained Lewis to the ministry in 1882 and he preached at secona from 1823 until his death on August 4, 1838. He was moderator of Twelve Mile association in 1829

Also another note from DAR [Daughters of the American Revolution] as follows
Ailsie is correct spelling

I agree with almost all of your information with the exception of Jacob Lewis' date of death. I have several sources that show his death date as August 4, 1857 in Pickens County, SC (including the Jacob Lewis bible - filled in by other family members). The only place I can think that the 1837 date comes in would be with his will. He created his will in 1837.

A source would be the book "Kissin Kin" by Kathleen Childress Hillers.
